January 29, 2011: SWRFA-NM

Big Moose Music is proud to lend its support to the Southwest Regional Folk Alliance's one-day New Mexico conference, dubbed, "SWRFA-NM," on March 26 2011, by donating server space and web design assistance. See http://www.bigmoosemusic.com/swrfa-nm

We have also finalized our new studio location and have begun preliminary tests on equipment in preparations to restart recording shorly.

We are pleased to report wonderful fan support at recent shows performed by The Mimi Nowak Project and are pleased to wish them all the success they so richly deserve.

August 23, 2010: New Beginnings.

Here at Big Moose, though we've been relatively quiet of the surface, there's lots of activity below the surface that I'm excited to share with you.

We are currently in negotiatins on what will be the permanent location for Studio 12 in a new incarnation. With any luck, we will be back in full production mode by year's end. Then our new gear will have a chance to spread its wings and fly. We are also researching our next round of technical improvements while we work out the design details of the physical space. Yes, we are really jazzed about that!

And, speaking of taking flight, one of our flock is on the runway ready to take off with her latest endeavor. Mimi has been getting really positive response to the EP we produced here at Big Moose. She's taking it to the next level with
The Project. A unique amalgam of the minds of some really great players is being brought to the table for The Project, moving beyond the limits of blues and rock to a new and exciting level. Check out Mimi's web site for details, but if you're lucky enough to be in New Jersey when The Project takes flight, don't miss it!

May 25, 2010.

Greetings from out temporary space here in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo mountains in Santa Fe, New Mexico! We are trying not to get so besotted by the beauty of this wonderous Land of Enchantment that we neglect the more mundane aspects of life, like setting up shop.

Studio 12 is in temporary digs which only allow for mixdown and mastering work, but we hope to see it in more permanent space before the year is out. Meantime, we've been acquiring some gear upgrades to add Neumann and UA equipment to our tool chest.

Big Moose Records is, of course somewhat tied to Studio 12's circumstance, but preproduction work is gearing up for Gary Paul Hermus' second CD, which we hope will be released next year. And Big Moose Booking is watching two fronts now; East Coast and Southwest.   On both fronts 'projects' are in the works. Gary Paul Hermus has a few showcase appearances in play, the most recent of which at Mike's Music Exchange opened to a warm reception. And Mimi Nowak is in the kitchen cooking up something that promises to be tasty indeed! It's too soon for details, but stay tuned!!
